CALL FOR DIRECTORS!

Winter Show - ‘Almost, Maine’ - Director
Musical - ‘The Wedding Singer’ – Director, Musical Director

Hello Leduc Drama Society Members.

The process of casting the fall show is underway and director, Erin McLean, assures us that so far it looks like it will be a great ensemble cast.

If you are interested in directing either the winter show or the musical, now is the time to throw your hat in the ring. Please email leducdramasociety@gmail.com to apply. Deadline for application is Saturday, August 15, 2015.  In your application please include any directorial experience and which show you are interested in directing.  A brief description of each show can be found below.

*Preference will be given to current Leduc Drama Society members in good standing.

Winter Show - Maclab Centre for the Performing Arts, February 5-7, 12-13, 2016

'Almost, Maine' by John Cariani - Romantic Comedy

On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost's residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night's dream.

Musical - Maclab Centre for the Performing Arts, June 17-19, June 23-25, 2016

'The Wedding Singer' Music by Matthew Sklar, Lyrics by Chad Beguelin, Book by Chad Beguelin and Tim Herlihy - Musical Comedy

It's 1985 and rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart is New Jersey's favourite wedding singer. He's the life of the party, until his own fiancee leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie
makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. As luck would have it, Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.
