Call for Directors
Season 2023 - 24
Are you interested in directing a play? A musical? A travelling show?
The Leduc Drama Society is searching for directors for the upcoming season and we have something for everyone!
Please contact Artistic Director, Emily Rutledge at [email protected] to apply, or for any questions you may have. Scripts are available to sign out for perusal for interested applicants.
The board of directors wishes to secure directors for the entire season at one time; the deadline to apply for ANY of the shows is June 30th, 2023
All potential applicants will be contacted for an interview. Successful applicants will be chosen by a panel of board members. Anyone interested in directing is welcome to apply, with preference going to current Leduc Drama Society members in good standing. All director positions are volunteer.
FALL: Travelling Dinner Theatre
Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!)
Dates TBD between November 10th and December 3rd, 2023
A holiday romp that will have you rolling in the aisles with laughter! A small travelling theatre troupe decides ON STAGE as the annual production of “A Christmas Carol” begins, that they are beyond tired of the same old tale of Scrooge. Instead, they embark on an improvised journey through many other well-known (and some lesser-known) holiday classics. Throw in a touch of audience participation and you have the perfect show to delight audiences of all ages (well… maybe adults of all ages).

The first American woman to test for space flight, Jerrie Cobb, steps into an isolation tank for a record-breaking nine hours as her memories unfold before her, from learning to fly a plane as a child in Oklahoma to testifying in Congressional hearings about the under-the-radar all-female Mercury 13 space program. They Promised Her the Moon is a compelling drama about the challenges of sisterhood and fighting for the greater good, based on a true story.

HEAD OVER HEELS is the bold new musical comedy from the visionaries that rocked Broadway with Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Avenue Q, and Spring Awakening. This laugh-out-loud love story is set to the music of the iconic 1980’s all-female rock band The Go-Go’s. A hilarious, exuberant celebration of love, HEAD OVER HEELS follows the escapades of a royal family on an outrageous journey to save their beloved kingdom from extinction—only to discover the key to their realm’s survival lies within each of their own hearts.
