The Addams Family - A New Musical - Music and Lyrics by Andrew Lippa & Book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice
Based on Characters Created by Charles Addams

Performance Dates: June 19-21, 24-27, 2015

Based on the bizarre and beloved characters created by Charles Addams, this original story finds the famously macabre Addams Family put to the test when outsiders come to dinner. Wednesday Addams has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family, a family you would find right at home at the PTA meetings and local sports clubs. While she tells her father, Gomez, about her love and impending nuptials, she asks him to keep it from her mother, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

Drop in auditions will be held on Saturday, January 10 from 6pm-9pm at the Playhouse located at 4701A 44 St., Leduc, AB

Be prepared to perform a song of your choosing, as well as a cold reading from the script. If accompaniment is required, please submit sheet music to the email address above.

Seeking:
Three female actors (ages 20 - 40) for Inaccurate Conceptions, a one-act play that will be featured in the ADFA One-Act Festival being hosted by Leduc Drama Society in March. 

The available roles are Lisa, who is just a bit too cynical; Joanne, who is just a bit too starry-eyed; and Angela, who is just too much! The fourth character in the play is Owen. This role has already been cast. An audition will be scheduled in early January, if necessary.

It is with mixed feelings that I announce the resignation of two of our Board Members.
Mary Ellen Shimell, our Production Director will be moving away and has resigned her seat effective immediately. Jennifer Barton, our Treasurer is going back to school and will resign her seat effective February 1, 2015. As a friend, I am excited for the opportunities each is moving on to in their lives. As a President, their hard work and dedication will be sorely missed and I am sorry to see them leave. 
 
As such, the Board of Directors is putting out a call for anyone interested in sitting on the Board. While this is unusual, there is precedence for how to approach vacant positions on the Board and we will be using the following procedure.
 
1)      If you are interested in either the Production Director or Treasurer positions, please email [email protected] by December 31, 2014.
a.       You cannot nominate someone else – these must be self-nominations. If you would like to encourage someone to run, I highly recommend you do so, and ask them to submit their name.
b.      Information on both positions can be found on our website in our governance documents. 
 
2)      On January 2nd, 2015, a list of nominees will be emailed to the membership. If there is only one name for each position, these individuals will automatically become members of the Board in their respective positions.
 
3)      If there are more than one individuals nominated for each position, a survey will accompany the names for members to vote anonymously and electronically for their preferred candidates. Votes will be due January 16, 2015 at 5:00pm. Following the electronic vote, the successful candidates will be declared and will become members of the Board of Directors.
